Baterai Deep Cycle

Baterai deep-cycle dirancang teratur untuk menjangkau sebagian besar kemampuannya. Sebaliknya, baterai starter (misalnya baterai paling otomotif)dirancang untuk memberikan arus tinggi secara sporadis untuk cranking mesin, dan seringkali akan habis hanya sebagian dari kapasitasnya. Jika baterai deep-cycle dapat digunakan sebagai baterai starter, "cranking amps" yang terendah mengimplikasikan diperlukan baterai dengan ukuran berlebihan.

Perbedaan struktur antara baterai deep-cycle dan baterai cranking piringan tebal, dengan kepada lebih tinggi bahan baku aktif dan pemisah yang lebih baik. The rechargeable batteries are lead-lead dioxide systems. The dilute sulfuric acid electrolyte is absorbed by separators and plates and thus immobilized. Should the battery be accidentally overcharged producing hydrogen and oxygen, special one- way valves allow the gases to escape thus avoiding excessive pressure build-up. Otherwise, the battery is completely sealed and is, therefore, maintenance-free, leak proof and usable in any position.
